Abstract

The increasing frequency of organizational disruptions has highlighted the importance of data-driven capabilities in enhancing resilience and sustaining long-term business performance. This study investigates the relationships among biostatistical analytics effort, epidemiological surveillance design, crisis preparedness, digital transformation capability, and sustainable business performance based on the Dynamic Capabilities Theory. Specifically, the study examines the sequential mediating roles of epidemiological surveillance design and crisis preparedness, as well as the moderating effect of digital transformation capability. A quantitative cross-sectional research design was adopted, and data were collected from 231 employees in pharmaceutical manufacturing companies using a structured questionnaire. The proposed model was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling. The findings reveal that biostatistical analytics effort significantly enhances epidemiological surveillance design, which subsequently strengthens crisis preparedness and improves sustainable business performance. The results further confirm the sequential mediating effects of epidemiological surveillance design and crisis preparedness, while digital transformation capability significantly strengthens the relationship between biostatistical analytics effort and epidemiological surveillance design. The study contributes to the literature by integrating analytical, surveillance, preparedness, and digital capabilities into a unified framework and provides practical guidance for organizations seeking to strengthen resilience and achieve sustainable business performance under dynamic and uncertain environments.
